What a tiny powerhouse! Don't confuse this with most similar looking
cameras you'll see out there- many of which are have terrible picture
quality and WEAK illuminators. The technical specifications (specs)
make it sound like so many others - but the performance beats the
numbers on this one. The DUAL imaging 380+ horizontal TV lines /
0.5 lux cam has an overall sharper picture capable of performing
in lower light situations than many large 'high resolution' 480
line cameras in side-by-side comparisons for true visual clarity
and color. With a newly revised 1/3" Sony® SuperHAD®
DSP (digital signal processing) CCD imager chipset- this features
a great picture in color or black and white.
This truly illuminates up to 50 feet in pitch dark conditions.
Many lookalike models can barely illuminate past 10-12 feet! With
a built-in photocell and smart light-sensing circuitry, this saves
use of IR illuminators until they are actually necessary. Using
the high output LED emitters only when necessary adds a lot of time
to their overall effective life.
We carry ONLY the LATEST and BEST in CCTV chipset technology and
circuit board engineering (both aspects are critical to produce
a high quality CCD camera)! Too many in our industry are still liquidating
'antiques' on an unsuspecting public, often even unaware themselves
that better technology exists.

Alternate Equipment to Consider:
For the same illumination power in a smaller package, try our #IR-5EX
instead. It also maintains a color picture in a bit lower light
thresholds than the IR-5HAD before switching to monochrome / IR
mode. *IR-5EX is available only with wide angle 3.6mm lens.
For a more economical application, use our #IR-2HAD instead. The
IR-2HAD is same size and has identical illumination range, but does
black & white (monochrome) video only.
Cautions:
Wide angle lenses may capture more video in the frame than is actually
being illuminated since IR emitters project their light at a set
angle of emission.
Infrared cameras cannot be placed behind glass, etc. (i.e. inside
a window). The camera "sees" the infrared light as if
it were bright white light. When you place an infrared camera behind
glass, the activated illuminators will create a visual halo around
the picture as the illuminators are reflected back at the camera.
Only certain types of filters will prevent this- such as the material
built into the front face of the IR-5EX, IR-2HAD and IR-5HAD.
This camera is not submersible.
